My Agent has stopped working

Today i was trying with my coding agent and it has stopped working. i had tried reinstalling curser. but it did not work.

I am on cursor start plan.

please look into the issue as early as possible

Hey, thanks for the report and the screenshots (I can see “Connection failed” in Ask mode, and the Spending page showing 86% usage).

This is a known issue on Windows. A component the Agent needs doesn’t load, so messages don’t get sent. It’s not related to your plan or limits, and it’s not an account setup issue. This usually helps:

  1. Fully close Cursor via File > Exit, then check Task Manager to make sure there are no Cursor processes left.
  2. Download and install the latest Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable x64 https://aka.ms/vs/17/release/vc_redist.x64.exe. If it says it’s already installed, click Repair.
  3. Restart your PC.
  4. Open Cursor, open your project, start a new chat, and send a short message like “hey”.

Let me know if it worked after step 4. If you still see “Connection failed”, open Help > Toggle Developer Tools > Console and send the red lines that mention “cursor-agent-host” or “native binding”, plus your Cursor version from Help > About.

I’m also having issues with grok bot freezing up . Once back from freezing the bot’s memory failed and reverted back the prior day. Then my usage went crazy , and said i was 99 % used up and a reset was in 3 days. The next day i came back to check in grok bot and then it said reset in 14 days. Now today it is saying 4 days to reset , Help please …

Hey @Bryan_Natera, this looks like a separate issue from the original thread, so a couple of things:

For the usage percentage and reset date questions, like showing 99% used or the reset timing changing between 3, 14, and 4 days, account and usage questions are handled by our team at [email protected]. They’ll be able to look into your specific account.

If the Grok bot freezing continues as a technical issue, please open a new topic for it so it doesn’t get mixed in with this thread. That way we can track it properly.
