No Auto Mode under Linux Cursor

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

I thought that on Linux this feature was provided by Composer, but now my API billing has hit its limit. Auto mode is reported as being used at only a few percent, but I do not have auto mode available in my Linux Cursor at all.

I know that colleagues on Windows do have access to auto mode. How can I enable or access it on Linux so that I can continue working with my Pro plan subscription?

Thanks very much for any hints or guidance.

Regards,
Dave

For AI issues: which model did you use?

GPT 5.2

Does this stop you from using Cursor

Yes - Cursor is unusable

I arbitrarily tried adding a custom model called auto. After doing this, the option to select auto mode suddenly became available in Linux Cursor as well.

Adding ‘auto‘ as custom model doesnt resolve a problem

Have you restarted cursor? Then I have not choosed the auto model, but the auto option got visible. The auto model can be removed again.

Same problem after restart.
Restart doesn’t add ‘auto‘ toggle.
I just have ‘auto‘ model in LLM list that doesn’t work.
