Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?
Cursor IDE
Describe the Bug
I am a paying Cursor user on a native Windows enterprise workstation. After the Origin rollout, a non-dismissible “ORIGIN / Try Origin” card appeared in the Agents sidebar over my repository list. There is no X, no Esc dismiss, and no setting to hide it.
I already had a local project selected (“This PC”). The card still blocked the UI. The only prominent action is Try Origin. I will not click it. Origin CLI is documented as unsupported on native Windows, so this product is advertising a flow this machine cannot complete.
This disrupted paid work, felt like a coercive attack from a vendor I already pay, and broke trust in an enterprise environment where we do not opt municipal/work code into a new host by clicking a promo. Origin must be opt-in, and this UI must be dismissible without claiming a codebase, opening setup, or leaving the local project.
Please add a close control immediately and stop showing this card when a local folder is already selected.
