Notification to download the last version while already in the last version

Describe the Bug

On Ubuntu 24.04.3 LTS, Cursor IDE sends periodic notification to get to the newer version (2.1) while cursor --version shows that I’m already on what seem to be the latest version.

Steps to Reproduce

Use the last version of Cursor IDE on Ubuntu for a moment and expect a notification for “new version is available”.

Expected Behavior

While on latest version, this notification should not pop up.

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey, thanks for the report.

Check Cursor Settings > Beta > Update Access. You’re likely on “Early Release”, which shows new early version notifications even if you’re already up to date.

Switch to Default to get notifications only for stable releases.
