Hi,
I’m a isolated novice writing my first post
Over the last 9 months I’ve really enjoyed having cursor (and ai) providing solutions to my python programming problems - and even providing simpler paths to solutions for my problems (after a few attempts).
Cursor has come a long way in this time. Though I read the docs and upgrade notices, I don’t understand or know how best to use these new features in my context. (I’ve even asked ai, but the features are too new)
Apart from the docs, what information could help me?
Has someone put together a up to date “best practices” guide on how to use cursor well?
(maybe even an in depth sales pitch?)
Can someone point me in the right direction?
Thanks, Graham
Hi Graham,
There is an absolute to checkout, the works of Profile: simonw | Hacker News (Siman Williamson does some fantastic things in cursor, publishes all his code, prompts, scripts etc. Youll learn a ton from him.

This forum has a cadre of folks doing Agent Wrangling in all sorts of interesting ways.
Cursor team is great (busy, still great) - but my personal opinion is that my feeling given all the people I’ve publicly been reading and as well doing my own thing - is that we are pretty much on the birth of Human Ai interaction at scale… and thus - not too many with a full grasp. Thus, we are all on varies pages of the same book.
However, can you provide more about what youre trying to do?
For example - I am personally all over the fn map with trying to figure out the limits of agents as far as their depth of capability in a mini-jarvis-like manner (i.e. Reasoning Functions), thus far, the AI available to the plebs is still pretty weak (I mean I dont have the largest AI data center in the world, access to the entirety of US financial secrets and a seat in a fancy house) - but if we can figure out ‘agentic droplets’ where we can cascade the tasks to N agentlents we will be pretty powerful.
So, what are you working on?
(the right direction is here, HN, /r/cursor…
