On-demand usage flexibility for Teams plan

Describe the request

Hey Cursor team. We’re a relatively small company with under 40 seats currently on the Teams plan (USD 40, gives USD 20 usage). We’re a bit too small to consider the Enterprise plan (we do not intend to upgrade) but the limits of the Teams plan is proving to be too restrictive.

On-demand usage for the Teams plan is not practical because the on-demand pool is shared within the whole team with no restrictions - which is probably fine for a team of four, but for us all it takes is one enthusiastic intern to exhaust the whole pool. I understand the Enterprise plan allows per-user limits and I’d like to request that this feature be extended to the Teams plan.

I understand that you may want to incentivise Teams clients to move to Enterprise but I suggest you do that another way. Seat limit at 100, perhaps, with flexibility for Teams to spend more by making the on-demand usage manageable. I really like Cursor and would like for us to stay with you for the long haul but this is proving to be a limitation that is affecting our productivity.

That is exactly our requirement too and I guess any small company team. Actually, we want to allow on-demand usage only for Cloud agents, Automations, and maybe a few tech leads.

The rationale is to be able to have better administrative control on the pool. Today, the on-demand pool is shared for all members and agents/automations. This does not work and limit our own usage as one member can just consume everything in a few days, even with Auto…

One workaround is to create a separate account for cloud agents/automations, but this is not very convenient. Could you please split hard limits between members, agents, and automations on the Teams plan. We can’t go for Enterprise sales at our size.

Same requirement, also a small team. It seems to be only good for huge enterprises. it’s extremely disappointing. I think many people would really appreciate this function.

Right now, some users consume all of the extra credit, which is very frustrating for others who use their tokens more sparingly. Since we only receive a set amount through our company, it would be really helpful to have better controls or limits so the allocation feels fairer for everyone.

This might actually be a reason for us to consider switching to Claude AI if the issue remains unresolved.

Please consider changing this in the near future.
