Describe the Bug
Every time I lock my MacBook (or maybe if it get’s to sleep), the OpenAI API Key Switch Button resets to disabled (so my api key won’t be used anymore). This is very annoying
Steps to Reproduce
Lock the MacBook/put it to sleep
Expected Behavior
Toggle should be persisted

Does this stop you from using Cursor
No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey, thanks for the report. The OpenAI API key toggle shouldn’t reset after locking your Mac - that’s not expected behavior.
Could you help us gather more info:
Consistency: Does this happen every time you lock or sleep your Mac, or only sometimes?
Full restart test: If you fully quit and reopen Cursor without locking your Mac, does the toggle stay enabled?
Console logs:
Open Console.app (Applications > Utilities)
Filter for “Cursor”
Lock your Mac, unlock it, and check for any error messages
Share any relevant errors you find
Workaround test: After the toggle resets, does re‑enabling it work right away, or do you need to re‑enter your API key?
macOS version: Which macOS version are you on? System Settings → General → About
This will help us see if it’s a settings persistence issue tied to sleep/wake cycles.
