Opt-out is no longer an option, everyone is going to get changed to new pricing - Cursor

Is this official? Is there no proper communication from Cursor again?

This is so… not what they promised. Will we hear it was yet another misunderstanding?

There was also information that someone lost the ‘auto’ mode.

I also chose to unsubscribe, the code is much more popular than him, and I reset it every day at 0:00

There were a few posts about the opt-out button missing, but they all got hidden and can only be found via google (search “cursor opt out gone”). None of the forum posts have been addressed.

It was silently removed and no communication again.

Already unsubscribed. Should have kept it on the legacy system and just revamped it accordingly or have a hybrid system but guess we know the direction here is.

Why hasn’t there been any communication about removing the opt-out button?

Just a few days ago, your CEO, Michael Truel, publicly apologised for the poor communication around recent plan changes.

Yet shortly after that apology, the opt-out button for the new plan was quietly removed despite assurances that users would still have the option to opt out. Any posts mentioning this change have since been removed or ignored.

This seems to highlight a deeper communication issue within your company. Even moderators appeared unaware that the button had been intentionally removed, initially claiming it was a bug and promising to escalate the issue.

You’ve created an excellent product and done very well. But this doesn’t justify treating your users so poorly.

The option to Opt Out of the new pricing plan was stated to only be available for a limited time. While this was always going to happen, we didn’t properly communicate to our moderators / ambassadors when this was occurring, so I apologise if you were receiving mixed signals from the team!

Thanks for getting back to me.

To be clear, does this mean if you’ve opted out, you can stay opted out? Or will those who have opted out be forced onto the new plan at some point?

Every single customer on Cursor wants to opt out new pricing!
What do you do? Why do you remove that thing?

You people are absolutely useless at any form of communication. I have never in my life had to endure utter incompetence from a company of this magnitude. It’s actually just shocking, to say the least, your platitudes and apologies hold water like a sieve.

I wouldn’t trust this person’s words — he says one thing, then another, squirming like a fish on a frying pan. They don’t even seem to know their own rules.
I think they’re slowly going bankrupt, since they’re cutting one feature after another and things keep getting worse.
Most people are already leaving; only true masochists remain, willing to endure such treatment.

They hid the topic again — well, great job. And then they’ll go on talking about transparency and how it’s all for our benefit.

Cursor “we didn’t properly communicate” will be written in the Cursor epitaph when the company goes bankrupt or gets gobbled up for a tiny fraction of your fictitious 9 billion dollar valuation.

Do these discussions get hidden or downgraded by the moderators? It seems the Opt-Out topic is shadow banned by Cursor, as two discussions from today cannot be seen even trying different options.

What?? So we had a few days to trial the new pricing plan before you took the option to opt out without warning? Those of us with an active sub should NOT HAVE been auto opted in…

What the hell, I was just looking for the opt-out button.

If you have already opted out during the window where this was possible, you will remain opted out for the near future. For yearly users, the pricing structure will remain until your yearly plan renews. For monthly users, the old pricing will remain in place for some time but will be sunset at some point to bring everyone in line with the new plan.

As mentioned in the megathread, anyone who is unhappy can send us an email to [email protected] and the team will be happy to help you out!

To keep everything in one place and avoid duplicate responses, I’ll be locking this thread, but please throw any question at us via the megathead - me and the team will be checking it at regular intervals to get back to you all!

RE the hiding of topics - this is an automatic moderation system that hides posts that have a high chance of breaking our forum rules until a human can check the post. This post is now unhidden.
