Option to keep "Thought for ..." from collapsing

I always read all the thinking steps and its frustrating when i open it start reading it and closes again automatically. I wish there were a setting to keep them expanded.

As this relates also directly to the new Pre-release of v1.2 you can add your comment to the thread there. Every feedback helps

I havent used the pre-relase 1.2
I’m on 1.1.7

Ah I see  no worries, other users comments were related to this as well.
The pre-release is rolling out if you are on Early Access.

Closing the “Thought process” toggle when I’m reading (simply because the model has finished generation of a request) is quite jarring.

I would not close it at all, but if you must, maybe figure out some heuristics to leave it open if I’m interacting with it.

Unrelatedly, I got the update on the same day as Claude 3.7. Loving both! Great job on the UI improvements.

Hey, thanks for the feature request, we’ll consider it.

Closing / hiding something the user has chosen to open and read is definitely a bug not a feature request! This is the typical dismissive answer of a technologist. Please run it past your UX or QA teams if you have them and see what they say about it being a “feature not a bug”.

It seems this is solved in 1.2, what is the setting to change to ensure thoughts are not collapsed and are always readable?

It still auto-collapses which is really annoying / jarring and makes me lose my train of thought. I’m on v1.5.11

The problem still persists and is particularly egregious when using Grok Code model as it is so fast. When you can’t see anything it is saying it will do until it has rolled miles off the bottom of the page whilst you fumble for the tiny links then you have to keep stopping and starting it. Thoroughly annoying. How can this still be an issue from July?? Please address and for crying out loud please hire a QA that isn’t a ■■■■■■ AI!!!
