Opus 4.7 — Effort level clicks not registering in new model picker (v3.3.30)

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

After the new model picker rollout, the Edit panel appears correctly when hovering over Opus 4.7. However, clicking any Effort option (Low, Medium, High) does not register — the model stays locked at Extra High. The Thinking toggle is also unresponsive.

This issue is specific to Opus 4.7. Claude Sonnet 4.6 works correctly in the same picker — effort levels and toggles respond normally.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Select Opus 4.7 in the model picker
  2. Hover and click Edit
  3. Under Effort, click Low, Medium, or High
  4. Option does not select — stays on Extra High
  5. Repeat with Sonnet 4.6 → works as expected

Expected Behavior

Clicking Low, Medium, or High under Effort should select that level and update the model accordingly. The Thinking toggle should enable/disable extended thinking. Both work as expected on Sonnet 4.6.

For AI issues: which model did you use?

Opus 4.7

Does this stop you from using Cursor

Sometimes - I can sometimes use Cursor

I confirm → I am not able to change Opus 4.7 from Extra High to High - click does nothing.

Same version: 3.3.30

I can confirm this behavior, both on Mac (tested 3.3.27 as well as 3.3.30) as well as Windows (3.3.30).

There is also a ticket for this bug here I just noticed:

Same issue, 3.3.30. Thanks

Thanks for reporting! We are actively working to resolve this, and we should have an update soon.

Hi all!
The issue with Opus 4.7’s effort and thinking controls not responding has been resolved on our end (via a backend server-side change), so no app update is needed on your side. Everything should be working as expected now. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns, or if you are continuing to see the same unexpected behavior.

Works now after restart. :+1:

It’s working after restart, thank you very much
