Personas, Easily Switching Between Cursor Rules

Hi all. This request is really two, firstly I’d really like to be able to customize the injection frequency for the cursor rules. During even medium length chats I find the rules disregarded.

The second is a bit longer. I’m a grad student doing research right now, and I work with ai in a couple of ways. One way is to skip over boilerplate creation and/or just get an answer, when I want to look at data quickly I don’t want to write the 50-100 lines of matplotlib to do it.

The other way is to be challenged to work through stuff on my own with the ai as more of a mentor and guide instead of just handing me the answer. Basically the opposite of the first.

I’d love to be able to have a drop down to switch between personas or whatever so I can load in rules that either instruct it to be free flowing with its help and just do stuff or to slow way down, not do stuff for me, and challenge my thinking and understanding so I make sure I’m truly learning as I work through my research.

If this exists already let me know because having a hybrid prompt for two opposite personalities isn’t working.

Hey, in version 0.45+, we added project rules, which allow you to create a variety of different rules and add them to the context. There’s a discussion here:

Thanks for the response! I’d still like to see control over the prompt injection though since my rules are getting forgotten pretty quickly in chats, especially when I want it to be critical and not just tell me the answer.
