Please make "thinking toggle" visible

Sometimes in the chat, Cursor will show me a little toggle, which is its thought process.

That UI is actually extremely important to me, because I’m writing a prompt to Cursor to do something in a Cursor rule, despite many efforts I have done so far to polish the prompt, but sometimes cursors still don’t follow through, and that’s incredibly overwhelming if I can’t access its thought process.

without being able to access it, it’s just like a black box, and it just has too many variables that any polishing strategy on the prompt can be ineffective at all, but I cannot know upfront, and debugging can also be very, very difficult, and maybe just impossible.

Can you guys develop a setting globally that I can decide to toggle it or not?

I’m not just writing a simple prompt in a Cursor rule, so I really, really need to understand how Cursor thinks

Hey, which models are you using? Also, please let me know which version of Cursor you’re using. If you’ve enabled the thinking toggle, it will appear in the chat with models that have thinking capabilities. If you don’t see it, something might be broken, or you might have an older version installed. You also need to expand the thinking section to see it.

problem “seems” solved.

What i can tell u is that, i didn’t change any model during any kind of testing.
Now, it’s solved automatically just out of surprise, cuz i can’t do anything.
It’s even solved before I upgraded to the latest version, which is v0.48.8.

It seems like it’s now always appearing.
But I’ll keep track.
Really weird though.

Okay, out of blue, it happens again. It just doesn’t show me the toggle.
Is there any way to make that reliable?

I promise I didn’t do anything to cause that.
