Grok is great as a frontier-level model, but Composer models offer an incredible intelligence-per-dollar ratio.
A lot of people don’t need the absolute frontier. They just need something fast, cheap, and ~90% as capable as the frontier models, which is more than enough for everyday coding.
Composer is exactly that. Composer 2.5 is just starting to feel a bit outdated now. So please release Composer 3 soon.

Composer hits a great sweet spot between intelligence, speed, and cost. A newer version that closes the gap with frontier models while keeping that efficiency would be extremely useful for everyday coding.
It looks like Grok 4.7 is next in the pipeline.

Since the policy seems to be that no model will be added that’s cheaper per-token than the current Composer model, then we need Composer 3 in order to compete with GLM-5.3 Flash (and to a lesser extent, Deepseek v4 Flash 0731).
Otherwise, we’ll have to move over to Codex in order to get the GPT stack + Astra + GLM-5.3 Flash once the OpenAI departure happens in November - keeping in mind we’ll also be losing Luna at that time.
Love Composer 2.5 and would love to see Composer 3.0 soon. Please can we have some updates on any plans, yes or a no, will there even be a Composer 3.0?
