Thank you for that. You guys zapped productivity from thousands of developers without the ability to rollback. Reminds me of the CrowdStrike blunder. Glad there is at least an option to get a previous version but I suggest you gather more feedback before releasing. Trying to compete with Windsurf and VS Code is fine, but you probably cost yourself more users than you gained by releasing early.

Do I need to uninstall current cursor before installing old version?
When I install old version, does it keep the current settings and vs code extensions?
hi there, you should really implement a tool like Frill and build the Cursor WITH US. A forum is cool, but a roadmap where people can vote and submit bugs actually allows you to see at a glance how many people are experiencing bad results with this or this feature, and how many of your current customer base want you to develop this feature or bring this one back.
This will avoid most of all these posts, but it looks like you just want to do your thing… I’m also quite surprised about the update since I don’t see any message in the editor, or any email, I just see the UI changing without being informed about what has changed, is it just me ???
That’s absolutely not normal! I mean you can do it once or twice but this isn’t the normal way to operate as a company and isn’t very respectful to people using your features for professionnal usage everyday (even though I like when things move fast and get better, I also would prefer something that I realiably understand rather than a software that changes every other day without telling me!!)
I think it’s a must have for the cohesion of the group and to develop a futureproof company with a strong and loyal user base.

The current version sucks really bad. Really disappointing. Please avoid unnecessary updates that disturb users. Now software engineering is the real differentiating factor here for coding assistants. I wish you guys success. Please be 100% in this area.

@tclark is there something you have to do in order to get previous version to work?? Right now its still forcing update from previous versions. Maybe there’s something I’m not doing right lmao?
Yea, That’s what I have been doing as well. I figured someone might had found a better way. I tried installing from a private mode download and that didn’t work either lmao!!
