Previous chat disappear

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

Hello,
So previous chats are disapearing when the directory changes. When you open a new folder in the IDE navigation, past chats disappear and only appear if you navigate back to the same directory. Just in case you delete the dir, the past chats are gone.

Steps to Reproduce

Open a folder → start a chat or two

Now open a new folder and change directory structure and ■■■■, the previous chats disappear

Operating System

MacOS

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey, thanks for the report, but this isn’t a bug. Chats are tied to your workspaces, so when you switch to another one, previous chats become unavailable.

Gotcha,

But this is so inconvenient. Is there a way to make this universal? Just because I change workspaces, it should not make my previous chats inaccessible? They have context and information necessary for future work

Unfortunately, there’s no way to do this right now.
