Privacy mode - state of the union

This question is NOT for the @anon-9002714 team although you may benefit from the comments ( if this post gains enough visibility )

This is geared towards the users. How do you feel about the privacy mode? Do you use cursor at work? If you do use it at work - do you use cursor enterprise or cursor pro?

Overall - how are we feeling ( in terms of confidence ) in cursor with your code?

Thanks!

I am not working at BigCorpo, just myself - so I actually encourage my interaction with te IDE to be slurped for better IDE-ing in the future. As I have bee vocal about YOLO and specifically about Composer Agent Behavioral Managment, I want the interaction with the IDE, and the Agents to be super fluid.

What sucs is that we do not yet seem to have a veery high-profile Agentic Institute of Agentic Archetyping and Shenanigan Crafting, Monitoring, Coaxing…

Meaning we dont have a Central Source of Canonoical Truth for how to best benefit from agents, and that in_&_of itself is the AIrms Race we are currently all of a sudden Tsunamied by: Those who control the spice Agents, control the Universe Profit-Generating System.

If you choose to index your codebase, Cursor will upload your codebase in small chunks to our server to compute embeddings, but all plaintext code ceases to exist after the life of the request. The embeddings and metadata about your codebase (hashes, file names) may be stored in our database, but none of your code is.

I found this interesting from the Cursor Privacy Policy:

In that - if our codebase is indexed by Cursors Mothership – It would be nifty if there were some sort of report that could be provided back to the Indexee, such that the Prime_Indexor performs some sort of Magnificent code, project, structure, function, documentation, dependency review etc… over the code base and provides insights, suggestions,

ABILITY TO FORK-TO -->> NEW_THING based on OLD_THING, inheriting the things you want from the ingested codebase and refactoring and spitting them out into another project folder pre YOLO’d to a workable starting point for NEW_THING

See my latest post with how happy I am with cursor and the develpment process – I am not in a position to eval the quality of its code. I currently have a binary relationship with that aspect of cursor, which == “Does it work as intented, YES/NO”

And I let it YOLO through the night:

And I am learning and remembering so much since I have been basically retired for a couple years from actively working at BigCorpo.
