I’ve been a happy Cursor free user for months. It worked fine for my workflow and usually completed prompts in seconds. The only limitation was hitting the usage cap after ~7–10 prompts.
A few weeks ago, I upgraded to Pro expecting more speed, more usage, and a better experience. Instead, I’ve gotten the opposite:
-
Extremely slow completions: simple tasks now take 3–4 minutes to respond.
-
Most completions are just spammed with irrelevant debug logs instead of solving the actual request.
-
I’m being told to start a new chat after just 3 prompts, which makes Pro even more restrictive than Free.
Right now, Pro feels like I’m paying to get worse performance and less productivity than the free version. This is unacceptable for a paid subscription, especially for a tool marketed for speed and efficiency.
I’d like to know:
-
Is this a known bug or intentional change?
-
When will performance and prompt limits be restored to at least match (or exceed) the free tier?
-
If this is the expected behavior, how is this considered an “upgrade”?
System Info:
-
OS: MacOS Sequoia 15.5
-
Network: WiFi(50 MB speed)
I’m posting this here because I want transparency and accountability, many others are likely facing the same, and we deserve clear answers.
