I was wondering if there is a way to make the Cursor Tab feature less intrusive. The tab feature can be very useful but also very disruptive and annoying at times.
My suggestion would be to have a “On demand” mode, were [SOME OTHER KEY] + TAB (or any other valid combination of keys) signals Cursor to provide a suggestion only when requested, as opposed to a “Proactive” mode, which is basically what we have right now.
This would work better for users like me who prefer, for the most part or on certain occasions, type freely without Cursor Tab disrupting the flow.
This would work similarly to the “snooze” feature, but it would allow for more granular control and it would be accessible directly with a key stroke.
Other users have suggested similar ideas though I’m not sure they refer to exactly the same use case: Manually make Cursor Tab suggest code?
Would this be a bad idea?
