Maybe you should downgrade and try again because this 1.7 is a very sick version

It’s okay, us strangers on the cursor forum, we like you.

I downgraded to v1.4 and now I get this. It’s an improvement in that I get the left and right outlines of the cursor window but my project still doesn’t open.

Hey, that’s strange. Could you try closing the project using File → Close Window, and then press Cmd + O to open it? If this doesn’t help, try renaming your project and opening it. The issue might be related to the chat history, which could be preventing your project from opening. Also, if this doesn’t work, open the DevTools panel to detect any errors.

I tried closing and reopening just now but it’s the same issue. I was actually trying Cursor for the first time so there is no chat history. But since then I switched back to VS Code since I couldn’t let a tool stop me. The great lock-in is going on and I can’t risk losing focus.

But if you would like to hop on a Zoom/Teams meeting to look into this issue and make sure this doesn’t happen to other users, I would be glad to do that.
