I have noticed very often that as soon as you stop the AI, the error

After that, I can no longer continue writing in the middle of my work. Starting a new chat is extremely annoying because it first has to understand where I was, what happened, and why.

I have seen several posts about this issue, but so far there seems to be no fix.

Does anyone know how to get the chat working again and when this problem will be fixed?

Hey, thanks for the report. This is a known issue with Agent when stopping operations, and the team is already investigating it.

To help us diagnose it, please share:

  • Help > About Cursor > Copy: the full version string (you only mentioned “Latest version”)
  • Re-run the request 2–3 times and share the new Request IDs (chat menu > Copy Request ID)

Workaround: starting a new chat, as you’ve been doing.
