Why is it that the auto mode is always GPT-5 Codex, and will always be GPT-5 Codex

how do u know it is alwats GPT-5 Codex? I think it switches between models always, not an exact one
Every time a new conversation asks about the model, it always responds, “I am GPT-5 Codex, helping you handle and explain code-related issues in Cursor. Is there anything I can assist you with?
