I am a student at the University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh. Our university provides official student emails with the domain @ru.ac.bd, not .edu. Because of this, I cannot apply for the Cursor Pro Student Program, even though I am a legitimate student.
In Bangladesh (and many other countries), .ac.bd is the recognized academic standard. Could you please allow .ac.bd domains or provide manual verification for students like us? I can share proof of enrollment if required.
This would really help, especially for students like me who donāt have access to bank cards or strong financial resources.

First of all, I want to say that I absolutely love using Cursor. It has significantly improved my coding workflow. Thank you for creating such an amazing tool!
As a university student from mainland China, I was very excited to apply for the Student Pro plan. However, I discovered that China is not currently on the list of supported countries for verification, which means students like me are unable to access this great offer.
Iām creating this post to express my strong hope that you might consider adding support for student verification in China in the future. There is a massive and passionate community of student developers here who would love to integrate Cursor Pro into their studies and projects. We believe that official support would be a fantastic addition for both the Chinese student community and Cursor.
I understand that this involves complex verification processes, but we are eagerly looking forward to any positive updates.

I am a university student in Ethiopia and would like to apply for the free Cursor Student Plan. During the verification process, I noticed that Ethiopia is missing from the country list, which prevents me from completing my verification.
Could you please add Ethiopia to the supported countrie, so that students here can also access the plan?
This would make a big difference for students in Ethiopia who are eager to use Cursor for learning and research.

Hi,
Iām a German High School student. It would be great if Cursor opted into the GitHub Student Developer Pack Program. That way people that donāt have an .edu people can sign-up for free anyway and GitHub professionally takes care of the entire verification process of student documents around the world. Additionally this would also allow older High-school students that are 16 or above who all have even less money than university students could all benefit from the same free program like they would be able to get GitHub Copilot, JETbrains and other tools for free. It would also eliminate the problems with the .edu mail addresses and would immensely help out people like me and people with no .edu address that live outside of the U.S.

Iām a student at Instituto TecnolĆ³gico Vida Nueva in Ecuador, and Iāve signed up using my institutional email: [email protected].
Currently, Ecuador is not listed among the supported countries for the student plan. Iād like to request that Ecuador be added to the eligibility list, or that my domain be validated for student access.
Iām happy to provide documentation or verification if needed.

I have also already sent several inquiries to the [email protected] email address. Itās really a shame that such a large list of supported countries is provided and that access is only granted based on the .edu domain. They might as well just delete the list altogether.
I understand the objection to using GitHub Education for authentication due to competition from Copilot. But JetBrains and virtually every other tech platform manages to authenticate students WITHOUT a .edu domain.
I would like to promote the tool, as I would recommend it to both my university and my colleagues. But with this policy, I find it very questionable to recommend it further.
May I ask why you say you support universities in Finland and you have mandatory to have .edu address ? Like 99% of schools in the world uses something else like in Finland we use @edu.schoolname.fi And I have send couple of emails to your support but funny thing is that there is always this same AI bs support person answering same thing over and over again about that you need to have .edu address.
