Does this stop you from using Cursor?

Hey, thanks for the report.

One important detail, this isn’t something that broke. It’s intentional behavior. The Agent tabs group on the right is reserved for Cursor’s own agents, so extensions like Claude Code can’t be added as a tab inside it anymore. I’ve shared your request with the team as feedback.

That said, you can still keep Claude Code on the right as a separate sidebar entry next to the Agent panel:

  1. Open the Command Palette with Ctrl+Shift+P or Cmd+Shift+P on Mac.
  2. Run View: Move View.
  3. Select Claude Code, it’s usually listed under Side Bar / Explorer.
  4. Choose New Secondary Side Bar Entry.

Claude Code should open on the right right away and stay there after restarts. While it’s there, Cursor’s Agent area may stop using chat editor tabs mode, that’s expected.

If Claude Code doesn’t show up in the View: Move View list, this can happen in versions where it’s only available as an editor tab and not a separate view. In that case, open a session as an editor tab and drag it into the right editor group. If that still doesn’t work, share your Cursor version from Help > About, or Cursor > About Cursor on Mac, and include a screenshot and we’ll take a look.
