Running agents in different projects at the same time makes them stuck in Generating... state

Describe the Bug

I have multiple projects and sometimes like to switch between them while waiting for agent’s to finish their work in one of the projects. I use claude 4 thinking. I noticed that if I run 2 or more Cursor projects and launch agents in another project(s) while one is working it leads to all agents getting stuck in Generating… state for tens of minutes without advancing or doing anything. Is this an expected behaviour? I assume there may be some rate limiting going on Cursor’s side but i do not get any warnings from Cursor IDE that I cannot do that or I have to wait while another project’s agent is working. I am using Windows 10 Professional. One of the projects is in C++ while others are web apps in Python + JS. I also noticed agents slow down while a few of them work at the same time.

Steps to Reproduce

Open 2 or more separate projects, each in a separate Cursor’s window. Give instructions to work on code for one agent in one project. Switch to a different project in a separate window and ask agent to make code changes in that project. This agent may start work and edit one or two files and then will get stuck in Generating… status without doing anything. Agent that was launched in the first window will also soon follow the suit.

Expected Behavior

Do not let the user launch more than 1 agent on a single account if this is not allowed. If it is allowed then running more than 1 agent on a single account shouldn’t cause any issues.
