Private Mode (Legacy):
- No code storage whatsoever
- Your code is never stored by Cursor for any reason
- No training on your code by Cursor or third parties
New Private Mode:
- Zero data retention by model providers
- Cursor may store some code data temporarily to power features
- Your code is never used for model training by Cursor or third parties
- Any stored code is encrypted at rest and in transit on AWS infrastructure in the US
