Clear description of the bug
Attempting to claim the “1-Year Free Cursor for Students” offer fails at the final SheerID screen with the message:
“We are unable to verify you at this time.”
The flow then drops back to the start without any additional guidance.
Steps to reproduce the bug (consistent for multiple attempts)
- Go to [cursor.sh/student] → click Get free year.
- Submit school-issued email & proceed.
- Fill in required student details → click Verify.
- After ~3 s, SheerID returns the error above; cannot continue.

- Cursor version: 0.41.2
Impact
The issue blocks activation of the student license, but the core Cursor editor remains usable under the free tier.
Any guidance on resolving or bypassing the SheerID loop would be appreciated. Happy to provide additional logs if needed (minus personal identifiers).
