Should not proceed after an ambiguous edit

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

Sometimes problematic edits are never retried. Cursor proceeds to re-run the test without changing anything at all

Steps to Reproduce

Not very reproducible - mostly random

Expected Behavior

The model should see if the edit has been applied and cursor should guard it towards retrying the checks only after changing something

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey, thanks for the report. This confirms the issue - the Agent detects “Model supplied an ambiguous edit” but still runs tests instead of retrying the edit.

To help engineering investigate, please share:

  • Request ID from this chat (Chat → context menu → Copy Request ID)
  • Which file/change was being attempted when you saw this error?

I’ll pass this to the team. As a temporary workaround, use the “Stop” button if you see the Agent proceed without making changes, then manually guide it to retry the edit.

Hi Deanrie, I had the same.
