Slack integration blocked on "Legacy" privacy error

Describe the Bug

I have hit an issue with the new Cursor Slack integration. I am able to add Cursor to Slack and get a message in Slack from Cursor, but when I try to link my Slack account to Cursor, I get the error “Link Failed: You must switch off Privacy Mode (Legacy) to use the Slack integration for Background Agents”.

In-app I see Privacy Mode as set to Disabled (Data Shared with Cursor). I don’t believe I ever had Privacy Mode enabled. I am not part of any enterprise org that might be overriding this.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Try to link my Cursor account to Cursor’s Slack integration
  2. Hit this error

Expected Behavior

Cursor lets me link my account, or it explains how to turn this off.

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Please update to version 1.1 and try again!

@apike Hello! thank you for asking!

Please open the Cursor.

Go to Settings > Cursor Settings

Then you may see the Privacy Mode like below.

Please update the config to one of the others. Thx!
