source code security for enterprise use.

Hi, Cursor is a nice editor to explain our code!

I am concerned about source code security for enterprise use.

  • I understand that prompts containing source code are stored on Cursor’s server. Is the source code sent in raw form or is it sent in a vector format such as embedding?
  • I heard that source code is not saved when Local Mode is activated, but what happens to data sent before activation? If it remains, is it possible to request its deletion?

I apologize if similar questions have already been asked.

You can find Cursor’s full privacy policy here => Privacy Policy | Cursor - The AI-first Code Editor

Your prompts include relevant source code snippets in raw form. Embeddings are used to search your code but they don’t contain your raw code.

Regarding your second question, I’ll have to ask the devs first (I’m kinda new here). I’ll get back to you as soon as possible!

Thank you for your reply and I look forward to hearing from you regarding my second question!

You can! If you email hi@cursor.sh, we should be able to do this for you. We also will give users a button to do this in the UI in the future.

perfect! thank you so much!
