Storing program settings and chats in the Cursor cloud

Describe the request

I used to play the game War Thunder and they made it so that the control settings are saved to the cloud. If you need to reinstall the game, you haven’t played for a long time, or you’ve changed your computer, your settings are automatically loaded at startup.

Many people have already come across how Cursor can suddenly erase it own settings and chat history. If they will be saved to the user’s account, the problem will be partially solved.

I also think that it is possible to save user chats to the cloud:

  • 3 days for Pro
  • 7 days for Pro+
  • 30 days for Ultra

Honestly, I’m somewhat doubtful that cloud saves would help here…if cursor is having difficulty managing its own settings when there’s only one local source of truth, I’m not sure that introducing a need to keep them synchronized with a remote version would help the matter.

Saving the settings and chats in the project folder which could then be version controlled would be a good option too.
