Describe the Bug

If a cursor session tries to write to a . file like .backup-ignore then it waits for review but there is no way to continue? I don’t want to commit I just want to click continue. Clicking accept changes does not allow the agent to continue its still just stuck “waiting for review” even though i clicked review and there is no button continue or something else like that??

I think it only happens for . files like .env or .random-other-file

Steps to Reproduce

Start running an agent in editor mode
Ask it to edit a dot file (“add node_modules to the .backup-ignore file”)
It gets stuck and cannot edit the file as its “waiting for review” but no button to click “continue” so its just spinning waiting for review??

Hey, thanks for the report.

This is a known issue with dotfile approvals. The team worked on it, but it looks like there’s a regression in the latest version.

Can you share the Request ID? (three dots in the top-right of the chat > Copy Request ID) I’ll pass it to the engineers to investigate.

Temporary workaround: try restarting Cursor and starting a new chat. Sometimes it also helps to accept the changes manually in the editor if the file is already open.

I am also experiencing this issue. after the latest update, the agent keeps getting stuck in review. very frustrating. its never done this before
