👨‍🎓 Student Discount - Details, Updates, Q&As

Hi @danperks,
I am a student from Japan, where universities typically provide students with educational email addresses ending in “.ac.jp” instead of “.edu”. As a result, I’m currently unable to access the student discount. I sincerely hope that in the near future, students like me will also be allowed to join this meaningful initiative.

Hi. I have received the email from SheerID saying my student status is verified. But even I log in with my student email (and my personal email), they both do not have the discount. I still need to pay for the full price. Anyone met this issue?

My student email is ended with @myschoolname.edu, so i do not know why this happened

Hi,
Is there a country/school list?

I had my email confirmed but cannot get the discount and I’m not sure if my country/school is included in the program.

UK/UEL

Cheers.

Hi,

I’m currently on a Pro trial and ran into issues verifying my student status using my university email: [email protected]. Despite attending an eligible institution (Oakland Community College), the verification didn’t go through.

I’d appreciate any help in resolving this.

Thanks,
Federico Nilsen

Hello, I am a student from Japan.
I am always grateful for the help I receive from Cursor.
At Japanese schools, email addresses usually end with domains like “ed.jp” or “ac.jp,”
so I am unable to use Cursor’s student services.
I would greatly appreciate it if you could consider supporting these domains.

Hello,
After pressing on apply discount and going to upgrade to pro, the price does not change to 0$. What is the cause behind that?

Hi Cursor Team, I’m a student at UC San Diego. I verified my student status through SheerID successfully, and I received the confirmation email (linked to [email protected]). However, when I attempted to apply the discount on your website, I received the “Verification Limit Exceeded” error and was unable to proceed to the Stripe checkout page. I reached out via email over 10 days ago (a couple of times) but haven’t received any reply from a human yet. I’ve confirmed that UCSD is on the approved school list and I am currently in the U.S., so this should meet the eligibility criteria outlined in your FAQ.

Could you please assist in checking out the student discount for my Cursor or reply to my email? Thank you!

Even though I submitted my student documents, my account has not been verified yet.It seems many people have the same problem and still

At first, I used my personal email to register for a Cursor subscription and subscribed to the annual membership. When the student promotion became available, I began the verification process. At that time, there was no requirement for my account email to match my student email. I successfully verified my status. However, after verification, you started requiring the login email to match the student email. How can I match them? Since you initially did not require a student email for verification and I passed the verification process, why can’t you refund me or grant me student eligibility? Isn’t this deceiving consumers? I tried sending you 8 emails and waited a month, but I never got a single response. Do you know how expensive an annual subscription fee is for a student? I provided verification when there were no such requirements; shouldn’t you allow me to gain student eligibility based on the rules at that time? I am so disappointed in your Cursor customer service. I sent 8 emails over the course of a month, and you completely ignored me.
