Iāve been trying to sort this issue out for about a week. My emails to the support person at cursor arenāt getting through from my student email, and my last email sent from my normal email account remains unanswered 48 hours later.
I also contacted SheerID support a couple of days ago but am yet to hear anything back from them.
I hope itās going to be resolved and not stuck in a back and forth between cursor and SheerID.

Hi, I initially applied the student discount under my Gmail account (From my experience, all other products can verify the student discount without needing to sign in using the student email, e.g. Github, pycharm). I received the email, but when I tried to apply the discount, it did nothing. I saw a lot of people have the same issue, and I have tried to use my student email to log in to the cursor and click the apply discount, but still nothing happened. I also tried to apply the discount again when logging in to the cursor and verifying student status, but it said it exceeded the verification limit. Could you please help me with my case?

Same here. I had someone contact me that wasnāt the AI bot but I canāt send back a response. According to SheerID (since I contacted them also), if your institution does not use a .edu in their domain it wonāt work. Which means that only 14.6% of Universities worldwide have access (there are about 7300 .edu universities which are mostly within the US and the total of Universities around the world are 50000). So this offer was for US students it seems. Not worldwide.
Had similar issues with the dashboard (11 days remaining on my pro trial ), and errors during the verification process. I tried to sign up for Cursor and verify using both the email IDs provided by my univeristy ā[email protected]ā today and ā[email protected]ā (r0869344 is my student number at the university).
I was disheartened by the reply I got when I reached out to Support (see screenshot below). I understand the security measures from the blog post above, but still find it strange that I couldnāt get verified even though my university (KU Leuven, Belgium) is listed for verification.
Either way, just wanted to say that Cursor has been a game changer for me so far. Even though Iām relatively new to programming, it is so frickin intuitive! I hope the issue above can be resolved as soon as possible and Iād highly appreciate your help with the same.

P.S. I had to login the forum page via GitGub, which is also linked to my personal address because for some reason I coudlnāt with my university email IDs. Strangeā¦

I applied to the Cursor Student Program. I have already verified my student email address, and I have also received an email of confirmation. However, when I click on the āApply Discountā button, it just directs me to the setting page with no discount applied. I think the problem maybe because I donāt click on the āApply Discountā button immediately after verification, but I left it like that for some hours, which might leads to the discount expired?
I tried to verify my student again, but it didnāt work.

Will Cursor Student Discount be available in Brazil soon? At the moment, I noticed Brazil isnāt listed among the supported countries.
I work in the IT department of a hospital in Brazil and Iām currently pursuing a degree in TADS (Technology in Systems Analysis and Development) at IFNMG, a federal institute.
My manager recommended Cursor as a learning tool, particularly because of its student discount, which would be a great help.

I see New Zealand is in the available country list. My student account format is ā[email protected]ā. I passed the student verification through SheerID, but I canāt apply it to my cursor account, which logs in with my student account email. When I click āVerify Statusā on student page, it says only ā.eduā is accepted. What is the supported university list? Can I still get the discount?

Iām a current student([email protected]) at Arizona State University and recently attempted to verify my student status through SheerID in order to activate the 1-year free Cursor Pro offer.
Unfortunately, SheerID was unable to complete my verification and has referred me back to you (see their reply below). Iāve attached a screenshot of the error I encountered during the verification process.
I would appreciate it if you could manually review my case and help enable the student benefit on my account.

Is there a reason why Uruguay was listed as an eligible country and then it was removed? Most members learned their request was rejected only to try filling in a new one without being able of selecting our country.

I have been verified by sheerID. but I cannot access the student discount because my schools email does not end in .edu
