I applied using university of Iceland email and received a verification link but there was an error verifying my identity. Now I don’t see Iceland in the countries dropdown list.
Already verified my student email. But when I click “Apply Discount” in email, it redirects to setting. And if I click “upgrade to Pro”, the price is still the same.
I found that every time I sent an AI request (especially when chat itself did not handle the problem properly and executed it again or failed to execute it successfully), my free usage times would increase from 1 to 2, doubling. Obviously, I did not ask that many questions.
I have reason to suspect that this is a logical error or a display bug, or this is a deliberate bad behavior by your officials against edu student users.

There appears to be a critical disconnect in Cursor AI’s student verification discount flow. While users can successfully complete verification through SheerID with their educational email, the system fails to apply the verified discount at the Stripe checkout stage.
This issue is preventing verified students from accessing Cursor AI at the discounted educational rate they qualify for, causing significant frustration and potentially driving away educational users from the platform.
High - The verification system is working partially but failing at the critical payment stage, rendering the student discount program effectively non-functional.

I have a similar issue. At our school, student email addresses aren’t provided at all, but I still passed the student verification. When I click the “Accept Discount” button, I get redirected to my Cursor account settings, and nothing else happens—there’s no confirmation window or any sign that the discount has been applied. I signed up simply using Google.
Please know that this is still a focus for the team, and we are working to help everyone we can access this plan (both those who were eligible but unable to redeem, those who used their personal email and now cannot redeem, and those not yet eligible!).
We may move slowly to ensure we roll this out safely and correctly, with all the proper verification steps in place, so please be patient while we do so, thanks
A lot of people still cannot log in into their accounts made using .edu emails. Any ETA?
Hi @danperks. I applied using my .edu email and received the access code, but I was logged into Cursor using my personal email at the time. I didn’t realize that both the login and the application needed to be under the same .edu email.
After realizing this, I created a new Cursor account with my .edu email and tried to reapply, but I received a message saying the access code had already been used.
Would it be possible to transfer the student access to my .edu account or reissue the access code for the correct email? How can I contact support regarding this?

But i have successfully activated my student discount so i want a refund for my annual subscription. I have contact through email and they respond that will connect a teammate to process the refund but i have been waiting for week and no one contact or reply my email

After completing the verification process with SheerID, I received a confirmation email (please see the attached screenshot). However, when I click the “Apply Discount” button, I’m redirected to my settings page on Cursor, but nothing happens—there is no discount code provided, nor do I see any updated pricing reflecting the discount.
