You claim it’s an offer for students? You even list eligible countries—“Which universities are eligible? Due to our verification process, this promotion is only available for verified students at universities in the following countries: … Poland …”—yet somehow no Polish institution actually qualifies. It’s a shame that no Polish institution qualifies, including my own Lazarski University: | Uczelnia Łazarskiego.

That’s despite SheerID Verification confirming “Congratulations: your student status is confirmed.”

This is pure manipulation on your part.

Your tagline shouldn’t read:

The tool for the next generation of developers
Verified university students get one year of free Cursor Pro.

It should be:

A tool for the next generation of developers.
Verified university students with a .edu domain receive one year of free Cursor Pro.
Verified university students with other domains do not receive one year of free Cursor Pro.

If you accidentally used the wrong email (a personal one instead of your .edu address) when applying for a discount and now see a “Verification limit exceeded” message when trying again with your .edu email, contact SheerID customer service. They can reset your verification, allowing you to retry using your .edu email. It took them 3 days to get back to me, so be patient.

At this rate, students are bound to have a nervous breakdown.
Half of the free-tier requests are wasted on fixing endless bugs:
“Fix this error,” “Now there’s another,” “Why isn’t this working?”
50 free requests. 500 with Pro — enough to completely lose your sanity.
One full year of breakdowns — absolutely free!

I did the same thing, also tried to go to sheerId’s faq page and enter my email there to get a new email confirmation with no luck.

did anyone manage to get the student discount using their university email that do not end with .edu?

I’m the same as many of you, I’m verified by SheerID, but it’s impossible for me to claim the discount in Cursor. Hopefully we will have news soon on this issue and it will not be forgotten.

Hi, I’m from Morocco, my school uses @eigsica.ma not @edu so I can’t beneficiate from this student plan.
An other issue is Morocco not being listed in the list of countries (it was listed the first day)

My student status has been successfully verified via SheerID. However, when I log into my Cursor account with my verified email (the university email), I only see the standard page, and there is no option to apply the discount—even on the payment page!!!

SheerID takes a week to respond, and all they say is that the country is no longer among the permitted ones and that they do not provide support to excluded countries. Then, they close the ticket. In other words, if your country was excluded after you were approved, you will no longer be able to access the discount, meaning you went through the entire process in vain.

I got verified by SheerID, but the discount does not apply. It seems to be just a marketing tactic.

Hi. I’m writing because I recently applied for the student discount and received an email confirming that I was eligible. At that time, I wasn’t on the Pro plan yet.

I clicked the “Apply Discount” button in the confirmation email, which redirected me to the upgrade page. However, the discount didn’t seem to be applied — the page still showed the $20 price and asked for my payment information.

Since I had seen that others in similar situations were later reimbursed, I decided to proceed with the payment thinking I would be refunded as well. Unfortunately, I haven’t received any refund, and now when I try to click the “Apply Discount” link again, it says the discount has already been applied.

Could you please help me resolve this issue or let me know if a refund is possible?

I have the same problem when using Belgian student email (@student.uantwerpen.be). At first, I successfully verified my student status via SheerID (refer to the below image) and applied discount. However, it turned out to be free subscription plan after several prompts within the cursor (refer to the second image). I really appreciate this program and hope it will work for us soon. Thank you so much

im a student in canada and cursor isnt allowing me verify my student email which is .ca domain it doesnt have a .edu

When the student discount program first launched, I verified my student status using my .etu email, but at the time, I linked it to my personal Gmail account. Unfortunately, before I could apply the discount, the system requirements changed to specifically require a .edu email address.

Even after creating a new account with my .etu email, I’m still unable to apply the discount. I’ve tried reaching out to support at [email protected], but the automated responses haven’t resolved the issue.

Is there any way to transfer my student verification to my .etu account so I can successfully apply the discount? I’d really appreciate any help—this discount would make a big difference for me.
