Subject: Request to Include Syrian Students in the Free Cursor Pro Offer

Dear Cursor Team,

I hope this message finds you well.

First of all, thank you for your generous offer to provide Cursor Pro for free to students. As a Syrian student deeply passionate about software development and eager to benefit from modern tools like Cursor, I was excited to see your student offer. Unfortunately, I noticed that Syria is not listed among the eligible countries on your verification form, and we do not have access to officially recognized university emails due to infrastructure limitations.

I kindly ask you to consider extending your offer to include Syrian students. As an alternative verification method, you could allow students from countries not currently supported by SheerID to submit:

A scan of their valid student ID card

A current enrollment letter from their university

Or even a short video verification or live Zoom call with a Cursor representative

This would help provide access to students in regions affected by conflict or lacking formal digital infrastructure but who are equally driven to learn and contribute to the global tech community.

Thank you for considering this request, and I hope you can help empower students like me who are striving to build a better future through technology.

Warm regards,
[Abdallah abizamer]

Bump to this, im in Pakistan and i dont have a .edu email issued to me.

Maybe cursor should partner with github and provide access through education pack

Syrian fellow here, just buy a pro account, make one of your relatives abroad pay for it (I know you probably have many xD)

Basic 4G bundles in syria cost as much as cursor pro subscription anyway.

Hi, thanks for your interest in our Student Discount.

We have seen a lot of questions come from this offer, so we have collated many of the answers to those questions here:

For any further questions, please comment them within that post.

Note: Please do not request specific countries or schools to be added - we are working on rolling this out to more students soon, but requesting your school will not make any difference to its eligibility
