Hey, thanks for the report. In Plan mode, code shouldn’t be written before your Build.
Similar reports: accepted answer here Plan gets executed even if I didn't ask for it and a Composer 1 variant Composer 1 agent edits files in Plan Mode instead of only proposing a plan
To help us fix this quickly, please send:
The Request ID from chat at the time edits start (chat menu > Copy Request ID)
Logs from Help > Toggle Developer Tools > Console
Whether it reproduces on another model, for example Sonnet 4.5
I’ll escalate this as a regression. Once we have the data above, we’ll push a fix forward.
Here’s the requestID from the chat session: ff80a9c8-67e1-4a88-aaf8-9704a721cb4e
Not sure if the dev logs are useful, I opened them up but there are dozens of console errors and other noise that doesn’t seem exclusively related to the chat session in question.
I have not tried to reproduce in other models… though I’ll say I have only noticed this since beginning to trial Gemini yesterday. I have used Auto and GPT5.1 extensively for months.
