For AI issues: which model did you use?

auto mode

Does this stop you from using Cursor

Yes - Cursor is unusable

Hey, thanks for the report. This looks like a regression in Auto Mode with approvals.

We need data to investigate:

  • Request ID from the problematic chat session: instructions Getting a Request ID | Cursor Docs
  • A screenshot of Settings → Cursor Settings → Agents → Auto-Run with your current values
  • Repro steps on a specific task or a short video

Please check if this temporary workaround helps:

  • Settings → Cursor Settings → Agents → Auto-Run Mode → select “Ask Every Time”
  • Turn off “Run Everything” if it’s enabled
  • Clear the Command Allowlist and make sure there are no automatic approvals

Docs on settings: Terminal | Cursor Docs

Send the above data - if the workaround doesn’t help, we’ll escalate to engineering.

Settings → Cursor Settings → Agents → Auto-Run Mode → select “Ask Every Time” done and Clear the Command Allowlist and make sure there are no automatic approvals done.

no help. 70% or more time wasted.

Try turning ON “Run Everything” - this makes the agent run commands automatically without prompts:

Settings → Cursor Settings → Agents → Auto-Run Mode → Run Everything

Keep Protections (File-Deletion, Dotfile, External-File) enabled for safety.

Regardless of results, I’ll escalate the bug to engineering - need data:

  • Test result with Run Everything (works/doesn’t work)
  • 1-2 new Request IDs from problematic sessions (chat context menu → Copy Request ID)
  • Console logs: Help → Toggle Developer Tools → Console (screenshot during simultaneous requests)

Let me know if Run Everything helps.

nothing changed, development went to stone age. When will it be fixed. My other developers have same issue.

What I need is for all processes to run sequentially, one after another, without multiple permission prompts or task requests appearing simultaneously. Otherwise, it breaks the linearity of development, confuses the AI, and halves performance. This catastrophically complicates the workflow.
