I have been using the “Auto Context” feature in Composer for weeks on a single project, but decided to start using cursor for other projects in separate instances of Cursor and auto context is not working on any other project I have tried. Referencing files or manually adding them to context works, but asking questions about the project or specific files without the @, results in Composer being unable to access the code. I continue to be able to use this feature in the first project I tried.
I have tried deleting and resyncing the index. I had been using cursor on a Windows 11 machine, so I tried installing fresh on a Mac and it resulted in the same thing, both running the current version (0.45.9). Even my original project does not work when I clone it over to the Mac. I have tried multiple models.
I see nothing about this feature only supporting a single project instance, so it seems like a bug.
Hey, I believe the auto-context uses stats on what files you have been working in, and adding as context to your message, as metrics for what may be important, so this will likely get better over time as you continue to use it!
