Turn on cloud changes (vscode feature) - not working in cursor

Not sure what the issue is here - this feature seems dead

thanks

+1 to getting this fixed. While the vscode import tool pulled most of my settings over, there were a few that were missed. Plus it would be nice to continuously sync it with cloud settings.

any update on this - still broken

Broken even profile is hard to change…

any update?

Yes, I’m trying to use Cursor on a new machine and I want to port over all my Cursor settings/extensions to the new one. In theory, I would like to not even have VSCode on my new machine. However, I cannot seem to get all the cloud sync features going. Is this the same problem? It is now 2025.

Unfortunately, being a VS Code feature hosted by Microsoft, we have no ability to tap into this feature even if we wanted to.

However, you should be able to run commands to export your profile from VS Code and then import it back into Cursor, which should move everything over to your new machine!

Do let me know if you have any issues with this.

How can I export my Cursor config essentially on my old computer and load it into my Cursor on my new one? I would in theory like to avoid VSCode entirely. Any advice - I can figure it out but ya.

You can first export your existing profile from your first machine using the Profiles: Export Profile command (using CMD+Shift+P, and typing it there).

This should give you a file you can transfer to your new machine.

On your new machine, install and open Cursor and run the Profiles: New Profile command. Then, click the arrow next to the New Profile button and choose the Import Profile button:

Select the file, and create it, and set it as your active profile!

Yea, well if it actually worked. It’s broken, and it would be nice to get someone from cursor to put an urgent hot fix on this…

10 days with no response from Cursor on the first report. It would be nice if you guys could get actual customer support. This is paid software, after all.

Hey, why is this not working?

Once you choose the file to import, are you clicking Create at the bottom?
Then you can choose it to be your active profile!

Try it right now and see for your self. Export your profile abd then try to import it. It’s broken for everyone right now.

It seems there is a bug with importing profiles with certain extensions!

As a workaround for now, when you import your profile, avoid importing the extensions, and then add those manually afterward!

I’ll flag this to the team shortly to look into.
