That’s a feature not a bug.
I think it goes away in a new chat or after a while of not using API models.
Hey, thanks for the feedback. This banner “Get faster responses / Upgrade to Pro+” isn’t really an ad. It’s a usage limit indicator. It shows up when you hit the limits on your current models, often on Auto. That’s why it doesn’t have a close button right now. It’s tied to your usage state, not a promo.
In practice, it goes away on its own in a new chat or once you’re no longer hitting the model limit. You can also switch models to avoid the threshold that triggers it.
I’ll pass along the request to make these banners collapsible or hideable. It’s already been raised in this thread Cannot dismiss Increase limits for faster responses notification. I can’t share an ETA for a change like that, but the feedback is noted.
These ads are extremely annoying! I’m already in a new usage cycle and haven’t reached any usage limits. Please give us the option to turn them off. Thank you!
