Cursor Chat History Loading Bug Report

Summary

Unable to load past chat conversations in Cursor IDE despite chat titles being visible in the sidebar. Getting no error but jump into a new chat screen when attempting to access previous conversations.

Environment

  • OS: Windows 10 (Build 19045)
  • Cursor Version: Latest

Actual Behavior

  • Chat titles appear in the sidebar (e.g., “FRONTEND AGENT”, “DEVOPS AGENT”, “Technical due diligence for React application”)
  • Clicking on any past chat shows loading state then switch to new chat screen
  • Chat content is completely inaccessible despite titles being visible

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open Cursor with a workspace that previously had chat conversations
  2. Look at the chat sidebar - can see chat titles listed
  3. Click on any previous chat conversation
  4. Same thing happens again
  5. Unable to access any historical chat content

Expected Behavior

  • Past chat conversations should load when clicked in the chat sidebar
  • Chat history should be accessible and readable
  • Chat sessions should persist between Cursor sessions
