As @Naufaldi_Rafif mentioned, this is often related to MCP. Please try the following:
- Disable MCP: Settings > Tools & MCP. Turn it off, restart Cursor, and try again.
- Check
.cursorrules: if the project has a large.cursorrulesfile or rules in.cursor/rules/, they automatically add context to every message.
If the issue still happens, please share:
- Are MCP servers enabled? (Settings > Tools & MCP)
- Is there a
.cursorrulesfile in the project? If yes, how big is it? - Request ID (Chat menu > Copy Request ID)
