It seems that every day I get the little bottom right notification that there’s an update. I get one option: basically update and restart. Where’s the release notes link? What’s new? Why am I updating? What are the risks? That information, with EVERY released update, should be available right there in that notification. I think this is a very, very reasonable request.
Steps to Reproduce
Wait for Cursor to have an update.
Operating System
Windows 10/11
Current Cursor Version (Menu → About Cursor → Copy)
There’s been at least three “Cursor Updated - Please Restart” (or whatever the bottom-left popup says) and I’m still not seeing any link to what I’m updating to. It’s VERY important with updates, more so for Enterprise customers, to know what we’re jumping into… is it something that might break our daily workflow? What about potential security issues? Etc. on and on. We really need to know what you’re updating!
This is the text, not what I said earlier. And interestingly, I JUST did this…. and here it is again? Some incremental “requires-the-prior-update” update?
rule of thumb - I always restart cursor before installing an update. Keeping it open for time in between multiple updates might stack up stale updates.
