Recently, Figma updated their MCP server, adding the generate_figma_design tool, so that you can feed LLMs a live webapp and push the design onto a Figma canvas.
This is already supported by Claude Code and Codex, and I’m curious how long we’ll have to wait to see it in Cursor. After testing the feature in Claude, it’s going to become an important part of my workflow. I just hope I don’t have to leave Cursor to do so.

Thank you for sharing this! The Figma MCP integration is one of our most popular plugins, and we’re aware of the demand for the new generate_figma_design tool that enables pushing designs back to a Figma canvas.
Currently, the Figma MCP in Cursor supports reading design context from Figma (pulling designs in), but the reverse direction (pushing generated designs back to Figma) isn’t available yet. This is something the team is actively looking into.
Unfortunately, I’m unable to provide a specific ETA, but this is on our radar.
