Is it too much to ask for the dashboard to calculate the API price at all times, so you can be aware of how expensive tokens are. It use to show it, i just am angry i’d have to write my own code to try to audit things.
Or has someone in the community made something that actually tries to do the math?

The team is aware of the request. There’s no timeline yet for bringing back dollar-value display, but your post helps with prioritization.
A few workarounds:
Usage Summary in the IDE: Cursor Settings > Agents > Usage Summary > Always. You’ll see session spend under the chat.
CSV export: Dashboard > Usage > Export. It includes per-request details.
Community Chrome extension: user @circa94 made an extension that brings token prices back into the dashboard: Cursor Token Usage Chrome Extension Cursor Token Usage Chrome Extension. It’s a third-party tool, not made by Cursor, but it might be what you’re looking for.
