V0.46 Available Now on Mac & Windows!

BUG REPORT:
The keyboard doesn’t work in this area unless I shut off cursor and restart it.

I can start, but after 5 or 10 minutes I get an OOM death.

I have 64GB of RAM and it has restarted at least 10 times in the 5 hours since I updated to 0.46.3

On Mac, stuck on Version: 0.45.15 - downloaded from website. Cannot force an update in any way. Did Cursor pull the 0.46 update?

Looks like I’ll take the plunge into .46 I’m a Pro user and had to deep six my MacBook indefinitely for security reasons.

Claude 3.7 has knocked it out of the park today and I thought o3-mini has been great too - Using Grok-3 to quarterback everything from x.com remotely

The Cursor Team really knows how to build stuff - Thanks for everything !!!

Saying goodbye to:

VSCode Version: 1.96.2

The same
On windows i have “user-scope” update problem and can’t update from Cursor

Yeah, I have wrestled ZScaler for years but this one has been the toughest yet.

I added .env file to both my .gitignore and .cursorignore , but it is still being read by the agent and data is sent to the llm. I find this extremely problematic and scary

Before the update, I couldn’t stand the drop in quality and emailed for a refund, but after the update, everything seemed to be fine again.

i have no access to the latest update , no prompt to update.

Theres any way to disable automatic URL requests? I dont wanna the tokens to burn on external requests. Also, for some reason my executions are burning more then 1 token per executio, 5 or six. Very strange.

Issue: Command+L chat invocation does not follow user rules, while sidebar click does

In new version Cursor 0.46.3, using macOS 15.3.1

Description:

I encountered an issue with the chat feature in the current version of the application. When I select text and invoke the chat using the Command+L shortcut, it does not follow the user rules that I have set. However, when I manually click the chat icon in the sidebar, it works correctly and adheres to the rules. In previous versions, both methods of invoking the chat followed the user rules as expected.

User Rules:

My user rule is set to “Always respond in Chinese中文.” I typically input my requests in English to avoid frequent switching between input methods, but I need the model to respond in Chinese so that I can read the response quickly.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Always start in a brand new chat (means no context).

  2. Set the user rule to “Always respond in Chinese中文.”

  3. Select a piece of text (the text can be all in English).

  4. Invoke the chat using the Command+L shortcut.

  5. Communicate with the chat in English (input request in English).

  6. Observe that the chat response does not follow the user rule (the response is in English, WRONG).

  7. Manually click the chat icon in the sidebar.

  8. Communicate with the chat in English (input request in English).

  9. Observe that the chat response adheres to the user rule (the response is in Chinese, RIGHT).

Expected Behavior:

Both Command+L and sidebar click methods should follow the user rule of “Always respond in Chinese中文.” (previous versions did)

Actual Behavior:

Command+L invocation does not follow the user rule, while sidebar click does.

Additional Information:

I will provide screenshots and detailed descriptions in the issue to further illustrate the problem.

Thank you for your attention to this issue. I believe resolving this will enhance the user experience by ensuring consistency across different methods of invoking the chat feature.

PS: 3 media restrictions, cannot upload the 4th image the code I select is:

warmup_steps = 715
max_steps = 19073 # 19,073 steps is approximately 1 epoch, assuming the dataset is 10B tokens with a batch size of 0.5M tokens.

Switcher of modes is buggy in 0.46.4
Cannot switch to any other mode after chosen one.

I installed it using Homebrew, and updates are not yet available using “brew upgrade”. Maybe submit it to Homebrew?

What modes is that? Is that a plan and act mode?

Why has there been no update, and even though the update documentation has been released, Windows 11 still cannot be updated
