Cursor, uses about 80% of my cpu whole CPU, when idle and doing nothing, it has been this way for about an hour, i restarted it many times, uninstalled-reinstalled as well, nothing stops that high cpu usage.
I am on Mac M1 pro, Cursor version: 0.46.8
It has basically made cursor unusable, consumes way to much battery and makes everything very slow.
Hey, can you share screenshots of the Process Explorer? The issue might be related to an extension. Also, try booting in safe mode using this command in your terminal: cursor --disable-extensions.
I tried booting in safe mode and it still happens, it also seems to be somewhat related to the size of the files I open, in the project, and if i have the agent/chat bar open:
No files open && no chat bar open → 35% CPU usage
1000 lines file open && no chat bar open → 60% CPU usage
1000 lines file open && chat bar open → 80% CPU usage
No files open && chat bar open → 30% CPU usage
300 line file open && chat bar open → 45% CPU usage
This might be related to having a lot of history in your chats. Try deleting some unnecessary ones.
