VSCode traditional side panel option

Cursor’s compact layout of action buttons isn’t ideal for my workflow.

I prefer the default VSCode side menu, which allows me to easily track file changes and avoid bloated PRs.

In Cursor’s current layout, I have to click the source control icon repeatedly to monitor changes, which is inconvenient. I haven’t found an option within Cursor to enable the default side menu. Is there a way to turn it on?

I also found this quite strange, but you can change it back in the settings.

The justification in the documentation is “The activity bar is horizontal by default to save room for chat.” Which is maybe valid if it’s 1998 and you have 800px horizontal resolution on your monitor.
