I am heavily relying on non MAX gpt-5.4 xhigh. I worked with it all day but as I restarted cursor this evening the available model list has changed significantly. What is up with that?
Hi @Sinan.Oe You probably have the new model picker that just launched. Just hover over the model name and click edit and then you can change the reasoning. This was made to simplify the model selection choices with the variety of options that we have today. I’m a huge fan! Interested to hear your feedback too.

You are right! Maybe add the same edit option to the settings page? This was totally unclear UI wise that the edit option is only in the agent panel. Thanks though.

Yes, it already did. The problem is I can’t switch reasoning depth on the settings page as cursor does not render the edit button there. The edit button only renders on the agent panel.
That is correct! So, the settings page is now simplified too. It lists the "model families,” so you can enable or disable a model family there, and then change the reasoning from the Agent panel.
